Minola Bathworks

Hello world! My name is Towana Evans. I want to welcome you to Minola Bathworks, located in Columbus, Georgia.

My Soaping Journey

Let me start off by saying that I have devoted the past few years to nothing but soapmaking. I was introduced to soaping by my daughter, Heather. I thought she was just bored when she first brought it up, after I watched a few YouTube videos, I decided to go to the store and buy some melt and pour. Of course, I was a bit too adventurous and didn’t quite get it right. It didn’t take long before I was scouring the internet searching for recipes and design ideas. I would get up early in the morning and start making soap; any soap. Of course, they were epic failures in the beginning, but it didn’t take long until I got it right. I have never looked back. Within a year, I had opened my first Etsy store, Two Lady Soaps. Now, I have rebranded under my LLC, Nevvans Diversity Group, and have launched my new Etsy store, Minola Bathworks.

Now, I have a network of vendors in which I buy my ingredients, and I have been slowly building my store offerings. I have also honed my skills in using different ingredients and techniques. I still like making simple, yet elegant soap bars, but I do like to make more elaborate designs, when my time permits. I will be starting a YouTube channel in the coming months, so be sure to look out for my videos.

On a Personal Note

Woman, Minority, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Veteran, Wife of Veteran!

I am a wife of 31 years as of this year. I am the mother of 7 and grandmother of 5, so far. I retired from Fort Benning, Georgia, after serving over 20 years of faithful service in the United Army. I hold a BS in Information Technology and am close to achieving a masters in Human Resources Management. While a masters in Information Technology would’ve been the obvious choice, I decided to choose Human Resources Management because I also am the owner of the Nevvans Diversity Group LLC, a call center under the Arise Platform. I started out as an agent, but for almost two years now, I have been a facilitator for the program I previously took calls for. There are times during the year that I am just too busy with my facilitating that I don’t have time to devote to soapmaking. But I have been making time on the weekends.

With all of that being said, I sincerely hope you will enjoy my soap as much as I do. I put a lot of time and care into every batch I make. I make small batches, which allow for more personalization of every batch.

Use it! Feel it! Love it! – Towana Evans, Minola Bathworks
